Haak Vineyards & Winery, Inc.

For the Haaks’ 10th wedding anniversary in 1969, wife Gladys gifted husband Raymond two Concord grapevines. Their passion for winemaking nurtured those original two grapevines into one of the most celebrated vineyards and wineries in Galveston County. In fact, Haak Vineyards & Winery is notable as one of the first wineries in the country to farm Blanc du Bois, a hybrid grape variety that grows in hot, humid areas like the Golf Coast. Since 2000, Haak Winery & Vineyards has produced award-winning wines on a commercial scale. They’ve grown from two grapevines into three acres of vineyards, including a cellar space for storing and barrel-aging wines. The grounds are decorated with rustic artwork and stylized architecture to echo the experience of walking through the scenic vineyards of Spain, Greece, Italy, and Portugal. They provide tours of the facilities, featuring wine tastings and a bistro-style dining experience.
